Music Leader Level 1: laying the foundation

Who it’s for: aimed at Key Stage 3 students, this is where your journey begins.

What you’ll do: you’ll explore diverse music forms – from hip-hop to indie and learn to deliver part of a music session to peers.

What you’ll gain: you’ll gain foundational skills in music and music leadership as well as confidence, which will set the stage for more advanced exploration.

Music Leader Level 1 redefines the landscape of music education and leadership. Its visionary approach is one that doesn’t just enhance your musical abilities, but also builds your leadership skills, transforming your classroom experience as well as your future, helping you to develop as musicians, leaders and individuals and leaving you poised to make a significant impact in your community and beyond. It’s a stepping stone, not just to Level 2, but to future employment in leadership and management roles in or outside of the creative sector, as well as to music-making, performance and technical roles or careers in event management.

The total award time is 30 hours, but only 15 hours of teaching contact time is required.
